Privacy Policy

Last updated: 04/07/2027

This Privacy Policy explains how Duval Heating Advice (“this site,” “I,” “me”) collects, uses, and protects any information you provide when visiting duvalheating.co.uk.

Who I am

This site is run by Steven Duval, a retired Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating engineer, offering independent advice based on 50 years in the trade. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact me via the Contact page.

What information I collect

Contact form: If you use the contact form on this site, I collect your name, email address, and the message you send. I use this information only to reply to your enquiry — I don’t add you to any mailing list or share it with anyone else. I keep these messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, then delete them periodically.

Automatically collected data: Like most websites, this site’s hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as your browser type and IP address) for security and performance purposes. This is standard hosting practice and isn’t used to identify you personally.

Cookies

This site uses Amazon affiliate links. When you click one of these links, Amazon may place a cookie on your device to record that your visit came from this site, so that if you go on to make a purchase, it can be correctly attributed. This cookie is set by Amazon, not by me, and is covered by Amazon’s own privacy policy. I don’t have access to, or control over, the information this cookie collects.

I don’t currently use analytics or advertising cookies of my own on this site. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct or delete it
  • Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. if you’d rather I delete a message you sent via the contact form)

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch via the Contact page.

If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy occasionally — for example, if I add new features to the site. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date.
